Some ideas are better expressed without words.

KORASIS has a language of its own. It begins with proportion, material and construction, but extends to the marks, forms and details that identify an object as ours.

Some are visible. Others are intended to be discovered. Together, they tell the story of where KORASIS comes from and what we believe an object should become.

The Mark

K · O

At the centre of the KORASIS identity is a simple relationship between two forms — K and O. Reduced, separated and brought together again, they form the KORASIS mark: a geometric signature designed to be recognised before it needs to be read.

It appears quietly. Embossed into leather. Pressed into a surface. Engraved into hardware. Placed where it belongs rather than where it demands attention.

For us, a mark should identify the maker without overwhelming the object. Recognition without announcement.

What we build around

Three Principles

Not a marketing framework — the three things that came out of the real story, and that everything else here is built on.

Craft

An object reveals how it was made. In the accuracy of an edge, the path of a stitch, the balance of a handle and the way two pieces of leather meet, craftsmanship leaves its own signature. We believe those details matter even when nobody else notices them.

Purpose

Every element should have a reason to exist. A pocket should be where it is needed. A closure should feel natural. A handle should belong to the object structurally as well as visually. Decoration can be beautiful. Purpose makes beauty endure.

Athens

KORASIS was born in Athens — not as an attempt to reproduce its past, but as a contemporary expression shaped by the same contrasts that define the city: stone and metal, light and shadow, geometry and imperfection, antiquity and constant reinvention. Athens is not a theme we apply to our products. It is where we begin.

A historical reference, not a fabricated one

The Owl of Athens

More than two thousand years before modern branding, a small silver coin carried the identity of Athens across the Mediterranean world. On one side, Athena. On the other, her owl. The Athenian tetradrachm became instantly recognisable far beyond the city that produced it.

We are drawn not to the coin as a symbol of wealth, but to the idea behind it: a small mark capable of carrying the identity of its place across great distances.

KORASIS does not reproduce the ancient coin as its identity. But the principle resonates with ours — create something distinctive, make it well, and allow the mark to tell people where it came from.

Material as Language

Leather remembers.

A KORASIS piece is not intended to remain exactly as it was on the day it left the atelier. Leather responds to touch, movement, light and time. It softens. Its surface changes. A handle begins to remember the hand that carries it.

Small variations accumulate until an object that was once ours becomes unmistakably yours.

We don't consider that deterioration. We consider it biography.

Marks of the Maker

KORASIS details are designed to be discovered rather than displayed. Not every mark belongs on every object — the material, form and purpose of the piece determine where, and whether, it appears.

Embossing & stamping

Where a piece calls for it, the KORASIS mark is heat-stamped directly into the leather at our atelier — the same press used for personalisation.

Hardware & registration

Some pieces carry the mark on hardware; some carry a registered serial number tied to the piece. What matters is not how many times our name is visible — it's whether the object is recognisably ours without it.

A symbol acquires meaning through repetition. An object acquires meaning through use. KORASIS brings the two together — marks that identify where a piece began, and materials that record everything that happens afterwards.
